60 firefighters from the Burgos Fire Brigade have spent a week at the Komtes Group's facilities in the Villalonquéjar Industrial Park (Burgos, Spain) to carry out various practices in road accidents. These practices have been carried out with vehicles that the company has loaned after using them in different tests to prove and certify the usefulness and quality of the Group's fire protection systems.
The Burgos Fire Brigade states that "road accidents are a type of accident that is difficult to practise without the "raw material" that is the scrapyard vehicle. In each manoeuvre we try to take advantage of the opportunity to develop techniques, try cutting in different positions and become more skilled with our tools".
Among the manoeuvres that the 60 firefighters have carried out during these days are, among others, the opening of the boot to perform a rear tunnel manoeuvre and evacuate a victim from the rear of the vehicle, controlled breaking of windows to gain access to the vehicle, the cutting and opening of the roof and doors in a side overturn, the opening of doors, making hinge cuts with hydraulic shears or controlled openings using hydraulic separators or the folding and cutting of seats to create spaces or to evacuate a victim in an O-degree position.
The Komtes Group would like to thank the Burgos Fire Brigade for their work. We are happy to collaborate to improve, because we both have the same goal: to save lives and goods.
